Twelve

Finally feeling normal again. I came down with a pretty bad case of the flu or something of the sort last week. I was in bed all day Wednesday and Thursday. Friday, I felt better but not 100%. It was good timing in a way, since I was stuck with the pager over the weekend and couldn't ride.

The previous weekend I rode almost to Rainier, OR. I was planning to put in more miles, but I wasted a lot of time on Dixie Mountain Road. It looks like a major road on Yahoo maps, etc., but it was all gravel with lots of hills. I was on the road by 6 AM, but didn't get to Scappoose until 9:30. At Scappoose I stopped for two sausage egg muffin sandwiches. A little ways past the Trojan nuclear plant I stopped by the Columbia river for some snacks. Then I got 3 tacos at Taco Bell on the way home. Climbing Rocky Point Rd was tough, but not impossible. The rain was off and on, but mostly on.

Yesterday I installed my new sidewall generator (an B&M S6), Lumotec plus headlight and taillight. It took me a while to figure out how to set up the bracket for the generator and headlight, but I got it. Note: carbon fiber forks do not conduct electricity.

Today I rode to the pool and did a few laps before taking David to school on the trail-a-bike. When I got to work I found a repair crew working on a broken water line above my cube. What's a little more water?
